Built around 1410, it served as the residence of the Kastner (a steward or tax collector) and as quarters for the Dukes of Bavaria. Privately owned from 1603 to 1956, then acquired by the town of Dingolfing. It has housed the Dingolfing Museum since 1959.
Rectangular brick building with western and eastern stepped gables, characterised by the richly decorated west façade. The interior has been preserved in its late 16th century state. Today, the building is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved architectural monuments of its time in Lower Bavaria. The complex includes a ducal granary built in 1477/78. The building was completely renovated in 1997 and the museum area was redesigned.
A wide variety of events take place in this building.
